Consult

At Pencil & Pathways, we provide thoughtful and collaborative consultation services to help families, educators, and school teams understand students’ learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. Whether you're seeking clarity, planning next steps, or navigating existing supports, we’re here to help.

We regularly partner with parents, teachers, administrators, and evaluators to:

  • Identify when an evaluation or support plan may be needed

  • Interpret prior assessments, IEPs, 504 plans, or intervention data

  • Develop academic, behavioral, and social-emotional strategies

  • Provide guidance on accommodations and classroom supports

  • Support the design, implementation, or refinement of systems that serve students receiving special education services

From one-time consultation or ongoing collaboration, our goal is to help students thrive—by supporting the adults who guide them.

Collaborative Support for Families and Schools

Consulting with Parents

We work closely with parents and caregivers to help them better understand their child’s learning profile and explore ways to support their growth at home and at school.

Parent consultations may focus on:

  • Determining whether an evaluation is needed

  • Reviewing prior assessments, IEPs, 504 plans, or accommodation plans

  • Clarifying a student’s strengths and challenges

  • Understanding available school-based supports

  • Discussing effective strategies for learning, behavior, and executive functioning

  • Navigating communication with school teams

Our aim is to provide parents with clarity, confidence, and a roadmap for advocacy and support.
